Last 5th of May we released Bokken 1.7, a minor release that anyway packed a bunch of new features in radare land and the interface itself. Feel free to read it at

Some of the goodies:
  • Compatible with radare 0.9.8.
  • Improved graphs.
  • Revamped highlight logic.
  • ARM support.
  • Bindiff now works for real.
  • More analysis options.
  • Tooltips and automatic function disassembly with your mouse.

Bokken point release 1.6, Debian private repository

Bokken 1.6 is a bugfix release of Bokken 1.5. Here you can read the blog post!

We have fixed some crashes in Linux and Windows and some other bugs, together with a redesign of the menu bar. The list of main changes follows:

  • Fixed vulnerability for symlink attack in /tmp (Debian bug #651931).
  • Replaced top menu bar with a button. This will also ease integration of Bokken in Inguma.
  • Fixed some usability bugs that we found in the previous release.
  • Fixed some crashes both in Linux and Windows 7.
  • Made Bokken more stable when running in a system-wide installation like a
    standard Debian package.

We have also a signed APT repository for those of you that want to stay in the bleeding edge and have proper packages. Please refer to the blog post or the wiki page for further instructions.


Bokken 1.5 has been released!

We are very proud to announce that Bokken 1.5 has seen the light, finally. This is our best release so far!
Here you can see the blog post, and the main list of changes follows:

  • Full support for Radare2. Now the opening dialog allows to choose the
  • Now you can open Java, mach0 and more ELF variants. The rest of formats
    supported by radare2 are untested.
  • Dissasembly has been enhanced: more precise, w/full dump of sections,
    symbols and more.
  • Several new tabs: Flowgraph, File info, Binary diffing, URL elements.
  • Enhanced support for web analysis.
  • Awesome code navigation à la HTML.
  • Crossed references and comments in code.
  • Interactive hexdump.
  • Advanced calculator.
  • x86 RCE cheat sheet.
  • Lots and lots of enhancements in the UI, from the general layout to
    polished details, the interface has taken a lot of work.

We will have Debian packages, Windows installer and MacOS X packages in the upcoming days. Stay tuned!
